The overall design aims of the Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Management for Bankers programme are to:

- Provide an underpinning of both the knowledge and skills needed by managers in the field of International Management and Strategic Management, so that students can contribute to and improve the achievement of their organisation's strategic objectives;

-Provide an analytical and multi-perspective framework, to enable students to recognise, identify and evaluate key management issues which critically impact on organisational performance and strategic direction in the context of International Banking;

-Develop the students' ability to analyse banking management issues of relevance to International Banking by undertaking critical evaluation and appraisal of specific case scenarios;

-Provide an opportunity for participants to make a contribution to the body of knowledge and understanding in the area of Advanced Management for Bankers;
Encourage holistic thinking within the areas of Advanced Management for Bankers;

Intended Learning Outcomes – Programme Completion

On completion of the Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Management for Bankers programme successful students should be able to demonstrate:

-A systematic understanding of relevant knowledge about management and it’s external context ;

-The application of relevant knowledge to a range of complex situations taking account of Management techniques and their relationship and interaction with other areas of the business or organisation;

-A critical awareness of current issues in banking management which is informed by leading edge research and practice in the field;

-An understanding of appropriate Management techniques sufficient to allow detailed investigation into relevant business and management issues;

-Ability to acquire and analyze data and information, to evaluate their relevance and validity, and to synthesize a range of information in the context of new situations;

-Conceptual understanding that enables the student to evaluate the rigour and validity of published research and assess its relevance to new situations;
Extrapolate from existing research and scholarship to identify new or revised approaches to practice.

-Ability to conduct research into banking management issues that requires familiarity with a range of business data, research sources and appropriate methodologies, and for such to inform the overall learning process;
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using a range of media.
