There are no old-fashioned exams. Instead you are given real-life case studies and essays, which allow you to think critically about your company and your own career. A not-for-credit induction module will be the starting point of the programme. The induction process is designed to familiarise you with the programme design, requirements and resources, as well as with the way online interaction, learning and grading will take place. After the induction you should be familiar with academic life, including academic writing, library services and library access, OnlineCampus access, and academic support services.
Strategic International Business Management
You will gain a thorough grounding in the major issues and perspectives of management, with a particular focus on strategic, global and organisational issues in an international context. You will also get an overview of key issues and decisions relating to the social responsibilities of corporate management. You will be encouraged to think critically about theory and practice in an ethical and professional manner.
International Business Law
You will develop an understanding of legal issues in the context of international business activity, and gain a sound understanding of how the law is applicable to agreements and their negotiation. You will and critically analyse the complexity, effectiveness and impact of Private and Public International Law on the regulation of international business transactions.
International Financial Management
You will examine exchange, inflation, interest rates and other factors which impact on the performance of firms and assess the significance of decision-making in a global context. You will also evaluate the principles and practices that guide the financial management of multinational enterprise. This module also places an emphasis on the differences between multinational and domestic financial management.
Marketing International Business: Branding, Communication and Relationships
This module will help you focus your understanding of a variety of communication methods used to establish and maintain cross-cultural business relationships with a variety of stakeholders. You will gain an overview of culture as a basis on which to develop international branding, marketing communications and business relationship development. These themes are particularly important in today’s global economy.
